Turnkey construction of a new motorway, including; 40 km of asphalt expressway with 6 lanes and 40.5 meters platform width, 44 km asphalt double lane collector road, bridge works (16 no), drainage structures, overpasses, retaining walls, etc.
70% of the motorway passes through plains with excessive underground water. Remaining portion of main motorway and majority of side roads passed through hilly area.
The scope of contract covered; 14,015,483 m3 excavation, 11,712,857 m3 backfill, 1,050,658 m3 excavation for structures, 196,579 m3 concrete, 726,180 ton asphalt pavement (15,128 m3/month average asphalt paving rate), 17 major bridges, 4 river bridges, 9 overpasses, 109 minor structures, 581 m reinforced concrete retaining walls, 20,895 m dia 125 cm concrete piling, 31,690 m dia 80 cm concrete piling.
The contract was executed in a 50/50 % joint venture with Balfour Beatty/England.
